Pros
I honestly cannot think of any. I supposed sales experience.
Cons
The worst con: I was part time and they were scheduling me for at least 50 hours a week with no break days in between. They would get away with scheduling me for 6-7 days straight by putting a Sunday shift in the middle so that the week would “restart” and technically it was two weeks so they wouldn’t have to give me benefits. A part time employee should never be working even 40 hours. I would literally be working for 7 days at a time. They also paid me less than the other women there despite me having over 8 years of retail and manager experience. They took advantage of the fact that I was from Minnesota where the minimum wage was much less. It’s also extremely competitive to a point where it becomes toxic. People are competing for and even taking credit for other’s sales. The sales goal is extremely high and they were not very clear about the expectations. The 70% discount only works on full price items, so your employee “discount” is the exact same price as if you shopped normally at the outlet. The dress code was very frustrating. I understand a certain colored top and the want for professional clothing, but it’s a retail job and you’re on your feet for hours at a time, expecting fancy shoes is ridiculous. Plus, a person only has so many black clothing items in their closet. Completely black outfits are difficult especially in hot cities.
