Don’t care about their employees but what’s new? - Sales Supervisor & Stylist Kate Spade New York Employee Review

Pros

There’s an employee discount but it’s usually no different than the price the customers pay. Plus there are exclusions

Cons

Within the years I’ve worked at this company there have been at least two company wide mass firings, as well as huge changes to the culture and brand. There is seemingly no communications between the company’s visual directors, buying department, marketing department, and any other higher up management. No one who works there can afford anything in the store, let alone apparel which can’t even be worn at work anymore after they implemented an “all black” policy. Any “wardrobing” we are offered still comes at a cost. The dress code change was also a sudden change with little company accommodation. They use employees for what they need them for and then will fire them after they are through with them. They do not care about you

Pros

I love that company offers wellness days and other benefits to focus on your mental health. I also like how there’s more training outlets for leadership and stylist.

Cons

The only con I would say is having an extra layer up for mental health insurance for stylist

Pros

Majority of cross-functional team members are great to work with, toxic behavior is rarely tolerated.

Cons

Back to back deadlines No time for vacations (deadlines also consistently shift, making it difficult to pre-plan vacations that aren't a 3 day weekend) No growth/promotions (even when you've been handling tasks that were your boss's job for 4 years) Underpaid and overworked
