Pros
I was introduced to Kelly Services by a friend who said they were hiring factory workers. I needed a job for the summer, so I went to them. I walked into the place (didn't even call ahead) and met with a lady right away. She pretty much told me I needed steel-toed boots...nothing much beyond that. I was to work at Green Bay Converting and some other printing company (the name escapes me). Because I was a temp-hire, I worked the hours they needed me to. 36 to 48 hours per week was usual.
Cons
12-hour shifts are not for the faint of heart! (or for the weak in knees, sore in the back types) These shifts will test your mental toughness as you fight through 12 hours of boredom. This is true drudgery. People who were direct hires of the Green Bay Converting company were making at least 25% more than me...for doing the same tasks. Avoid Kelly Services if at all possible! Only use them as an absolute last resort! Staffing firms are nearly pointless unless you need cash fast.
