Some areas respect work-life balance, mine didn't. You couldn't work hard enough to please my management. Promises regarding advancement and transfer potential were made and not kept. Very much an atta-boy culture, happy to praise you, very slow to back it up with anything else, like money or flexibility. If you enjoy being stroked, great. If your looking for anything else and unwilling to put in 12 hour days every day whether workload demands it or not, forget it.
