Pros
There is good work-life balance so far with Kemper, and the benefits are good and clearly explained. Company has been communicative about efforts to keep things operating smoothly during COVID-19 in the work from home environment. Remote onboarding was not as difficult as I had feared initially, and everyone has been extremely helpful. The company is growing and it's clear there are plenty of opportunities for growth if you want to pursue them. Upper management has conducted several live Q&A sessions to update everyone on the company and the COVID situation, which is always good to know the top down engagement is there.
Cons
The hiring process was lengthy, but that is likely due to the pandemic slowing everything down. Recruiter was communicative which was reassuring during the process. Working remotely also is a con starting as a new hire. It has been challenging to get to know the team you're working with as well as training in the remote environment. The training via Teams was definitely interactive and beneficial, but can never match an in person experience. Would like to see some job shadowing conducted remotely if possible.
