Pros

It's a job, but not a carrier if you plan to have any sort of life outside of work.

Cons

I started working for Alliance United in September 2014. On May 1, 2015 Alliance was "acquired" by Kemper/Unitrin Group of Companies and we took a significant cut in pay. Not the dollar amt, but the way in which they utilized live pay (10 days as opposed to 13-15 worked days paid). Overtime trails and is applied to following check. By the way overtime is frowned upon. The benefits are not worth it. But we were left with not choice. I literally only 15-20% out of pocket for most coverages and now we are at roughly 80% of out pocket for medical and dental. Management has completely flipped the switch on being nice to employees. As if we are the enemy... There is a such thing as work/life balance, this company does not allow for that.

Pros

Pay and benefits, supportive coworkers, opportunities to develop critical thinking, communication, and investigation skills. The role provided valuable experience in handling complex claims and making coverage and liability decisions.

Cons

High caseloads and demanding workloads can make it challenging to maintain work life balance. The job can be stressful at times due to deadlines, customer expectations, and the volume of claims.
