Is this your company?

Unreasonable workload. Company has really gone down hill the last few years. - Anonymous employee Kentucky Farm Bureau Employee Review

Pros

Not sure about upper management because they don't come around much, but the people are great. They only audit 10 or 12 files a year. Such a tiny sample does not reflect what is going on. You can luck out an have an excellent review but if they pick a couple bad files your review will suffer greatly.

Cons

The workload is very unreasonable. The claim load is 2 to 3 times more than the industry standard. It is not possible to give good customer service. In order to keep up with your work you have to work lots of overtime but don't get compensated for it since you are on salary. Expect to work 60 hours a week or more. On top of that, the don't specialize, except they do have a small handful for property adjusters. The vast majority are multi-line. You are assigned to an agency instead of a territory so if the agency you are assigned to gets hit by a disaster you are on your own. Moral is horrible. Not one of the adjusters I work with are happy. After a couple decades in the business I have never seen such low moral. Home office seems to be extremely out of touch. There are not many standards set so claims are not handled uniformly. Nobody has ever trained us on how to read medical records and value a BI claim. Not much training at all. Each office is different. They all have different ways to settle claims. No uniformity. If someone complains, they will get their claim paid even if excluded by the policy. That's not fair to the other insureds. Very old fashioned and way behind the times. Sometimes I feel we are on verge of a strike.
