Cons
- Another review said management was aloof and unfortunately I have to agree with that statement - Since most of the staff has been there for such a long time I think they are very stuck in their ways - Financial statement completion process is outdated and relies on a lot of manual work which draws the process out and makes things inefficient - They are in desperate need of many process improvements but from what I gathered they are not interested in that, the company is very much in need of some youth and fresh eyes but they just don't have the type of environment that can attract and retain the talent they need - Benefits are outdated - Vacation time is much less than standard for a staff accountant - Flexibility is very limited (it starts with in office training and eventually moves hybrid which is a perk but hours are inflexible, you absolutely have to work until 4:30 which is becoming increasingly uncommon for accounting jobs- this is the only corporate accounting job I've ever worked that didn't allow me to set my own hours) - Onboarding was nightmarish and what lead to me leaving the company, in every other position I was hired on right after the latest financials were completed so I had time to learn the software and research the financials before completing them myself. I started on the last day of the month here which gave me 8 hours to learn the software and become familiar with the financials which is impossible to do given the large load of work and then on the 1st I was thrown into the financial statement process. Management also chose to gatekeep information so I could "learn things myself" which was detrimental and lead to a lot of stress on my part that 100% could have been avoided - High turnover throughout the company- many new staff members
