Pros
Somewhat free to handle work as I need to in my district. There is a feel-good feeling at the end of the day when you know your employees look up to you and know you're doing your best for them.
Cons
No growth potential (even after reaching out to upper management about what is needed to move up with the company), underpaid (some employees make more than I do), overworked, no work-life balance. As a manager in charge of Sales Reps and Merchandisers I receive emails, text messages, and phone calls from 6am to midnight if not later. Expected to bend over backward to get all of your work handled on time while also dealing with a constant struggle of not having a fully-staffed team (not just during COVID, this has been going on for years). But, when you want support from HR or any management above the branch itself, good luck.
