Pros

Mainly the only pro is making a difference in other peoples' lives.

Cons

Many many cons. To start they go off of a 15 minute pay period that is self inputted without a time clock. This is heavily abused by fellow DSP's. Fellow DSP's show up as late as possible and leave as early as possible. Example: person(s) relieving shift will show up 6 minutes after shift which totals 30 minutes a week you are required to work FOR FREE. Workday hours are rounded daily so if you input honestly 6 minutes late for 5 days it does not account those hours. Speaking of this topic leading to my second "con." I have had to speak with my supervisor, my supervisors supervisor, as well as an HR rep and nothing has been done. In total I have had spoken over half a dozen times regarding the issue(s). The management here is lousy. They WILL not fire a problematic employee who does not follow through on their job duties as well as show up to work on time. According to their "Attendance Policy" if you accumulate three tardies in a month period policy states that disciplinary action will take place. Which It has not occurred to my knowledge. This scenario has been going on for over 6 months. Management has been targeting me for staying late. The location I am at is a 24 hour supervised location. Somebody needs to be there at all times otherwise you are REQUIRED to stay until relief arrives. I have received emails questioning why my time is the way it is despite them knowing that the relief shows up late every night. Even with me providing descriptive documentation does not mean anything to them. Third con: Inclusion/Equal Opportunity Employer. This company states that they are very inclusive as well as an equal opportunity employer. This only applies for the people that they serve. NOT EMPLOYEES. They will allow other races get away with virtually anything. Examples being leaving campus during shifts, sleeping, not performing job duties, etc. This company will give people who have been there for several years and of a certain race several "reminders" to which there are no evident repercussions. As opposed to my race they have targeted me and a fellow member of my race above another against similar offenses. Fourth "con" would be pay. Keystone Human Services gives raises to everyone equally. They do not take work ethic or results of work into account. Personally I have revamped a substantial amount of paperwork and implemented it to better fit the needs of the individuals. On top of this I maintain the vast majority of the daily, weekly, and monthly tasks on my own. This including menus, individual task work, shift task work, etc. Due to this compensation issue employees who have been there longer with no sense of work ethic that choose to watch movies or be on their phone all shift get paid more than the hardworking employee(s) that keep the location functioning. This job pays better than a better entry level job, but this on top of this employer NOT compensating employees for time worked makes this a "con."
