Pros
alright so I've been here for under a year still but I'm surprised to see some of the comments as negative as they are. to each their own, fair enough. but seriously, accusing of review botting? do people really think execs have the time for that? I've been apart of a few startups and heres what I think this place has going for it as a whole and what im looking forward to: - no shortage of raw brainpower. lots of smart and driven people here just based on other companies they're coming from, or strong pedigrees/schools for a lot of the newer grads - there's no shortage of work or impactful projects if you want or think of them, I've been given full leeway to be the captain of my own ship and get the buy in needed to make it happen - first profitable startup I've worked at, which brings a peace of mind I had to adjust to in a good way in that I don't have to be afraid that this place tanks in a few months. the unit economics are pretty insane for a series B so it feels nice from a future outlook/financial exit standpoint - the RAMP program is pretty cool, in a job market that's dismally dystopian for new grads, I like that kikoff sees it as an opportunity to give high potential new grads/early careerists a strong jumping point - leadership seems pretty transparent about where we're at with IPO updates and readiness, etc. - new snacks and a boba cart because people asked - new CTO seems refreshingly empathetic and cool - I don't even work directly with him but you can tell he's one of those rare human leaders who actually walks around and talks to people like a normal friendly person. charming guy, and refreshing to observe
Cons
- definitely some good ol' startup growth pains where some teams and people are trying to figure out how to work together. I guess it makes sense when there's a lot of new grads and people earlier in their careers who are trying to figure out everything so it'd be nice to hire more senior people to help coach them - documentation culture has a lot to iron out. hard to figure out what's happening if you're not in the right meetings/conversations. there are meeting docs that are empty or outdated. if you're trying to learn how to use the tech stack here, you basically just have to DM people and ask how stuff works - career progression feels up in the air depending on your team/manager. looking forward to more clarity on leveling, what it takes to get promoted, and role expectations in writing
