Pros
-Stable -Benefits on par with anywhere else -Once hired, it is borderline impossible to lose a job in KM That's about it.
Cons
-Promotions are scheduled 10 years in advance. If you see a new job on the job board, chances are somebody is already picked, HR is just going through legal motions -A LOT of not very bright people in management just because they stuck around from the beginning and were moved up because somebody else left. Pretty much the only way to move up and is to stick around long enough until somebody leaves/dies. -The "we don't need a Cadillac if a Chevy would do" mentality leads to people shooting for the Yugo level of performance -Micromanagement is insane -Young motivated ambitious people leave left and right because of the "yes" man culture
