Pros
decent benefits that start from day one decent pay plenty of overtime, if that's your thing stable
Cons
rampant nepotism and cronyism no set schedule no recognition for quality work performance and problem solving weak leadership no respect for employees poor work/life balance unless you're management lots of gossip and backstabbing poor communication between employees and management If you aren't related or friends to someone in management, your only chance to advance is to kiss up to management. It doesn't matter about the quality of work or experience that you bring to the table. If you are too good at your job you are more than likely to be viewed as a threat and be held back instead of being viewed as an asset. This is due to the lack of qualifications, caring and work ethic that the majority of area and terminal management has. If you are an ambitious person who takes personal pride in doing a good job and wants to advance in a company by doing it the right way(working hard, learning everything you can and being dependable), look elsewhere. This is a stepping stone job at best.
