Pros
The HSA is easy to use and coworkers are very hard working.
Cons
Intentionally very short staffed, equipment (vital sign machines, glucometers, computers in which to document) in short supply. Computers are in every room but have been kept out of commission making it impossible to document in real time. Assessments and medication administration must be entered at the front desk computer when there is one available. Care plans from other disciplines have to be completed by the nurses and it is impossible to know what tasks were completed. No electronic narcotic medication station. Narcotics are counted and remediated by hand. All administered narcotics documentation is printed as are the kardexes and MARs every shift. Too many opportunities for errors.
