Pros
Great corporation. Great GM. Good statndard benefits that most mining companies provide. Some very talented, dedicated, and engaged employees in the industry work here. Very rare to see this high percentage of employees dedicated to safety, improvement of processes and dedication to work. Because most of the employees like the lifestyle they have in Alaska they often go above and beyond to help the company to have longevity.
Cons
Isolated sites. Limited growth opportunity. Pay is not commensurate with the living condition. Poor health insurance with very deductible. People have to put up with some very sketchy middle-management. The Technical Services team is technologically outdated and its management lacks leadership, trust, vision and integrity. The employees are under a lot of stress and often hopeless and negative. High turnover. Change is very slow to non-existent. Only non-contributing apple-polishers will get what they want. Honesty, hardwork, dedication is not valued but a**-kissing and blindly following orders is expected. Good place to be forgotten and antiquated. Accountability for managment is very poor mostly because they are buddies but for ordinary employees there is no second chance.
