(SF) Extremely High Turnover, Boys' Club - Practice Assistant Kirkland & Ellis Employee Review

Pros

Nap room, snacks. After you're gone for the day, you're done. Looks good on a resume.

Cons

I was there for a little over a year, and I saw about 10 secretaries leave out of the 25 we started with. It's a revolving door because people are unhappy and underutilized. It is VERY HEAVY phone coverage (my phone rang about 5 or six times a minute), and completing expense reports/invoices and that's about it. I would absolutely not recommend this job for anyone who is looking to learn about the field or be substantially involved in their attorney's projects. I often asked my managers and attorneys for more involvement and nothing changed. There is high turnover in management, too. I had three different managers in one year because they kept leaving the firm. I would really not recommend accepting a job here in 2019 -- they need some time to sort out existing issues. The boys' club here is especially obnoxious/problematic, too. There are so many opportunities in SF for legal support staff, especially if you have Corporate experience -- look elsewhere!
