Pros
Unfortunately, I am not having a positive experience at Klaviyo and I am moving on. Read the reviews that are 3 stars or less. The 5 star reviews are from new hires that were instructed to write the reviews during their orientation.
Cons
Red Flag terminology that Klaviyo uses: "Fast Paced" - means that they spend so much time in endless meetings discussing the same issue/problem, that by the time a solution has been reached, you have zero time to implement it. You must work at a rushed and ridiculous pace and hope that you don't mess up because there is no time left for accuracy and reviews if you hope to meet the deadline. "High Growth" - means that they are hiring bloat to get them through IPO. If they ever manage to hit it, there will be mass layoffs shortly after. Outlook is bleak. "Collaborative" - means that you do not have any autonomy. All decisions must be sponsored by leadership and a group of your peers. This goes for every single thought, process, decision, and idea that you have relative to your area of expertise. "Best Place to Work" means that Klaviyo has paid to be on this list so that employees can then vote between them and other companies that have also paid to be on this list. Please take these types of designations with a grain of salt. There is an alarming number of very incompetent and incapable people at all levels of leadership here. Senior leadership (Sr Dir, VP, and C-Suite) is especially top heavy in the incompetence department. Culture is very petty and political. Cut throat, even. There has been lots of turn over for a reason. "Fake it til you make it" is fully embraced. It's clear that many have never worked for global companies, let alone public companies, or being part of taking a company to IPO. When you finally discover this, it will be too late. If you let them know that you know, you will be managed out. The best decision I made was to leave.
