Pros

Standard start up perks: can bring your dog in, snacks, unlimited pto, relaxed dress code lunch stipend bathroom has full doors to toilets not stalls everyone is nice and gets along. it's a company largely devoid of ego. a lot of group events outside of work quarterly QBR meetings and weekly all hands meetings give all employees a lot of knowledge of what is happening elsewhere in the company

Cons

standard open office floor plan which while very popular can suck as it can get loud. united healthcare sucks

Knotch Response

We're so glad to hear that you're happy to work here! In response to your note on UHC, we hear you. Knotch currently offers 4 different medical plans under United Healthcare, and though they have a large network in NYC, we understand that there are limitations. You can always ask the People Team for help navigating your UHC benefits: FSA, HSA option, Healthy Perks/Discounts. We also have Dental (MetLife) insurance, Vision (Aetna) insurance, and a OneMedical plan that's great for quick access and teledoctor visits!

Pros

Knotch is made up of exceptionally bright, genuine, and motivated people who truly care about one another and the work we do. There’s a strong sense that we’re all moving toward a shared goal while actively supporting each other along the way. Honest, constructive feedback is welcomed, egos are notably absent, and continuous improvement is part of the culture. I feel very fortunate to be part of the Knotch team and hope to spend many years of my career here.

Cons

As with many fast-paced companies working with cutting-edge technology, workloads can occasionally ramp up quickly. That said, Knotch is thoughtful about ensuring the team has opportunities to unplug and maintain a healthy work–life balance, which is refreshing and uncommon among startup-style environments.

Pros

Competitive pay and able to work remote.

Cons

I genuinely don’t understand how this company continues to exist. The product is interesting in theory but is completely duplicative of other, better, and more affordable options in the market. Instead of real market research or validation, leadership shifts the product and go-to-market strategy every other month based on whatever buzzword is trending in marketing... or whichever deep-pocketed customer they’ve recently had a casual chat with. The company feels like it only survives because of the executive team’s connections rather than any real product-market fit. The CEO is incredibly charismatic, but beneath the charm, there’s a serious lack of experience. That would be fine if the rest of the leadership team made up for it, but instead, it’s a group of mostly unqualified executives who dictate direction without any real understanding of what they’re doing. The team itself is tiny and keeps shrinking. If you’re not a yes-man, you won’t last. Leadership does not take kindly to being questioned — either you kiss the ring, or you’re out. There’s no real culture of collaboration, just a top-down approach where a few people decide everything, and everyone else is expected to follow orders. If you’re not in the executive circle, you’re treated like a cog in the wheel. On top of that, the work environment is bizarre. The team is filled with people who seem to avoid having personal lives, constantly manufacturing urgency around meaningless work to feel important. And for a company that claims to be a marketing company, it’s astonishing how little anyone in leadership actually understands about marketing. If you want to work somewhere with a clear vision, competent leadership, and a culture that values real collaboration, look elsewhere.
