Pros
Cashiers only fold clothes, bag items, process money, and sell credit. Cleaning up other departments is only done if you're still in at closing, but you're expected to keep all registers tidy (not so much a pro or con; a given). It's fast-paced, even when the store isn't active. Decent discount.
Cons
Hours are contingent on credit sales. Setting record highs doesn't matter if you can't keep that number day after day. Store closes could mean staying 2-3 hours after hours because those departments were just coming in for a paycheck. Even these cons not that bad. No real chance for advancement, not really competitive pay. Inconsistent hours. Registers are often broken and card scanning machines would take months to be repaired, leaving customers unable to work with credit cards.
