Pros

There are few things i actually like about this job, but one of them is that I enjoy talking to all the customers. I havent had any rude people at all which is surprising for retail. I enjoy most of my coworkers, they have been very sweet and helpful. The associate discount is okay...its only 15% off. You honestly can get more of a discount online lol.

Cons

It feels like you aren't appreciated unless you are signing someone up for the kohls credit card. I always get told you need to do this..or ..you arent doing this right....but the moment you sign someone up for that credit card it's "GOOD JOB YOU ARE DOING SO AMAZING!!:)" then moments later its back to what you need to improve on or asking you why you only signed a few people up for the credit. I like only 3 of the managers there and the rest are just rude and should not be managers, they are deeply unorganized for a management team and you can tell who the favorites are. It really sucks because the team has alot of potential to be strong but they don't know what they are doing besides telling people they aren't doing right all the time. Also, instead of taking an employee aside and telling them they did something wrong, they like to walkie it for all the other employees to hear, i think that's rude and embarrassing.

Pros

Good full-time benefits, flexible scheduling. But the cons are starting to outweigh the good.

Cons

A new store manager took over the Massapequa Park location (Long Island, NY) and the workplace culture has become highly challenging since. Her management style is overly critical, and she makes harsh, rapid judgments without taking the time to know her associates or understand their roles. Furthermore, she does not lead by example, and she sets unrealistic expectations without providing regular check-ins or continuous coaching. This has left the staff feeling unsupported and neglected. There is also a strong perception that loyal employees hours are being unfairly cut or even terminated to reduce store costs rather than supporting the well-being and retention of the staff.
