Pros

A employee decent discount Associate shop days are great if you're a frequent Kohls shopper Great if you have nothing else to do/completely open availability

Cons

Everything else! Awful management and poor distribution of workload. Lack of organization is everywhere. Lazy employees that spend more time socializing than actually working. Work is typically left until the last minute everyday and usually falls on one or two employees to do an entire stores worth of work in a few hours. The store is always left unkept until a visit from corporate happens. (That's when everyone goes crazy trying to make everything look decent) Management is unrealistic with the daily sales goals and bullies employees about the making credit goals for the day. Day shift workers usually leave hours worth of work behind for closing shift employees. Closing shift employees will leave full rails of clothing for day shift to complete (and the cycle goes on) Management often refuses requested time off and hour/avaibility changes. Hours will drop randomly. One week you will have 30+ hours and the next you will have 8 or none at all. Very unprofessional environment. Management often give excuses as to why things don't get done and so on. Lots of shoplifting!

Pros

The culture at Kohl's is very inclusive and specifically within the DS organization there is a lot of collaboration of ideas. Depending on your team you will have more of an hands on approach, some days feeling closer to an applied scientist than a data scientist.

Cons

Disconnect between priorities with leadership roles. Salary is not competitive, opportunities for promotions are limited regardless of your deemed performance by your direct manager.
