Pros

I got my own office. There was hardly anything else redeemable.

Cons

So many...shall we begin? I should have known after my first 9 months that career progression was not going to take place. Nearly every tenured employee, including management has been in the company stranglehold for 20+ years and positions open up on ultra rare occasions. If you want to be a store manager, good luck to you, you'll be closer to retirement than your start date when that happens. Speaking of the management; although there are good ones, those are few and far between. *TRIGGER WARNING* I had never experienced any symptoms of depression. However, after working for Crystal Turner at the Johnson Creek, WI store, I can firmly say that my mental health had me contemplating ending it all - and not in a job sense. They transfer you from store to store with no direction and no warning. However, when you request a transfer, they tell you that your request will not be possible. The hours suck and not to mention the holidays. You are required to work as a salaried worker, beyond the target hour goal - and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Horror story time. I was scheduled for 47 hours during Christmas week 2020. My normal schedule would have me on the opening shift from Monday through Thursday and the Closing from Friday through Sunday. My beast of a boss, Crystal, thought it would be pleasant to ignore my concerns over a mismade schedule and have me do a 16 hour day on the Monday. Come in on Tuesday at 5am for truck, which I had to throw, and after experiencing an injury while doing so, I was told to get over it and keep going and proceed to finish my 12 hour shift. For those of you keeping track at home, that is 28 hours worked in the span of two days. Not to mention I commuted 45 minutes each way every day. Take us to Wednesday and I was called in on my off day to work 6 hours as register coverage....I'M A MANAGER. After being told I could have Thursday off for sure, guess who got a call being asked to come in. Of course I let that voicemail sit, but 23 missed calls later, I had enough. I drove in and worked 8 hours. We are at 42 hours of work in 4 days, and I was still scheduled to work Friday through Sunday. Of which I worked 10 hours each day. In all, as a salaried employee that week, I put up 72 hours of work and didn't even so much as receive a thank you from Crystal. If you like your own happiness, avoid this scam of a company.

Cons

Little to no training been working here for almost a year now there’s still something I don’t know every day. What was most difficult for me was being at registers as I was trained in two days by shadowing someone. There are so many situations and problems that will come up every day and you will learn something new! They never taught me about Kohl’s cash, how to read receipts, reprint or edit receipts. They schedule so little so when you do learn something there’s no chance of rehearsal because you come in three weeks later working at a different department.
