Pros
The employee discount is a nice benefit for this part-time job. Coworkers are generally friendly and helpful. Requests for schedule considerations are accommodated by management as long as there is sufficient notice given. The store manager at this particular store is excellent, helpful, supportive, and always positive.
Cons
While the customers are always king, the employees are not. Training is hap-hazard and varies, depending on which E3 (manager on duty) you happen to have on any particular day. E3s do not appear to have any type of HR or leadership training and some of them view this role more as a power trip and opportunity to belittle the hourly employees. Breaks are not regularly scheduled, but rather are granted when someone else is available to cover your position, or if you have begged for a break more than 3 or 4 times. Ending shift times are not honored, but rather you are asked to stay longer if the person replacing you is late showing up. There appear to be no consequences for late arriving employees; it is more of an accepted fact. Most of all, the continual chatter in your headset from management about not working hard enough to get new credit card applications or not doing enough to run out to greet customers as they enter the store is demeaning, degrading, and depressing.
