Pros

My process consisted of three interviews and an informal lunch before I received my offer. The first round was remotely with HR and they were very welcoming, professional, and inquisitive. I thought they did an outstanding job making sure I was going to be a good fit; they were the only firm (out of 3 larger contenders) that asked behavioral questions. The second and third rounds were remotely with management and they built a rapport, were attentive, and forthcoming about the role. The informal lunch was with management where we continued with rapport and I had plenty of time to ask questions. I thought the whole process was well thought out and transparent. Throughout my onboarding, I kept thinking how great a decision it was to move from a large public accounting to a smaller regional firm at KM. From my large firm experience, KM is on the cutting edge of people and culture initiatives without the convoluted egos and formalities of larger firms.

Cons

The interviews with management were scheduled for 40 minutes, which may seem like a long time, but it goes so quickly when both parties are interested, I am glad we went to lunch as well to keep the conversation going. I did not get to meet the team (other manager and staff) until after I signed, so I couldn't gauge the flow of communication until I arrived. However, this unknown is just like any opportunity and my team ended up being very professional and warm.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a response! We value your feedback! For efficiency and convenience, our process has progressed to virtual interviews, however we do like to offer the opportunity for an in-person meeting prior to an offer acceptance.

The work is engaging and you are trusted to manage complex client relationships with a high degree of autonomy. Leadership encourages thoughtful decision making, collaboration across teams and continuous process improvements. Firm is focused on leveraging new technology to improve daily tasks. I have found managers are approachable , open to discussion and willing to listen when improvements are raised. You will be exposed to a wide variety of industries and situations which accelerate learning and builds a well rounded experience.

Cons

Workload can be heavy mid- month to deliver timely financials , need to keep on top of work daily and plan for future events. Your success will depend on strong organization, follow-through and ability to manage competing priorities.
