Pros

1) Supportive but challenging atmosphere. 2) A knowledge that the products I am helping support have a real-world impact. It was very easy to settle in to Kromek and start having an impact. The company is not small but also not huge so your voice is heard but they have the structures in place to allow you to thrive.

Cons

1) You need a car to get to the Sedgefield office- although there is public transport available. 2) New products come thick and fast so can be hard for a non-physicist to catch up.

Excellent mentors will help you work through projects that you take charge of and are interested in. Every employee is incredibly friendly and willing to assist with any questions. Overall, an amazing experience that showcases what it means to be part of the manufacturing process.

Cons

If you are not a self-starter, or are someone who needs constant direction then this internship might not be for you.
