Pros
The everchanging challenges of manufacturing presented new problems to solve everyday. Multiple areas of focus to diversify the workload. Many experienced mentors available to assist from multiple departments. Mixed model production means that new products are introduced every few months. Ability to work with all departments within the company to better your understanding of the company. Great camaraderie within the company.
Cons
Very little onsite or offsite training was available. Many projects were thrown on a single worker with little input or oversight resulting in many failed attempts. Constantly changing effective areas frustrated many assemblers. Long hours and weekend work was almost a requirement to achieve deadlines for projects. Pay was below average with little to no advancement possible within the first 5-8 years.
