Pros

Low stress at this level, typically. Work-life balance has been good for the most part. Depending on who/what you know and timing, interesting projects may come and go. The same goes for funding on associated projects. Work from home has been convenient during the 2020 - 2021 timeframe.

Cons

Compartmentalization means little communication between departments and often even within departments. In my experience, one can feel somewhat isolated or alone in project work, depending on the situation. I'm sure more work-from-home doesn't help this. Some of this also depends on one's interaction with his/her manager, project leads, or other mentor figures. Beauracracy, red tape, compartmentalization, customer/vender restrictions, and the slowness of IT can be huge hindrances to project tasks at times. There's basically no social component, at least within my department. Folks talk in the halls when more people are in plant, but there's a lot of isolated, quiet work going on in a building full of engineers and scientists. Work-from-home can amplify that effect.

Thanks for leaving us a review and providing your feedback. Many of our teammates also find the work interesting and meaningful. We agree that our work/life integration is one of the great benefits we can enjoy. You do make a valid point though; during these uncertain times, it may be challenging to find the social interactions we're used to. Many of our teams and members of our Employee Resource Groups are trying to find creative ways to engage with the L3Harris community through virtual events, on-camera meetups and even virtual movie nights. Please work with your manager or HR Business Partner if you have new and innovative ideas to improve and streamline our existing processes.

Pros

Missions are impactful to the world Top talent in specialized fields Wonderful people Respectful environment

Cons

Processes and policies are not robust enough to support the large growth / merger, which leaves everyone operating in silos and interpreting things in their own ways Shared service model is not structured properly Not enough critical thinking around how budgets should be allocated for tools, capital, and salaries Higher level leaders are too in the weeds and not working on the harder strategic aspects Businesses are not aligned with common products to gain best synergies as all businesses fight to defend $s not what actually makes sense for the company (radios sharing same suppliers are in completely different segments; CCAs are built across 10+ different factories managed by different management teams instead of a couple of large COEs) All leaders felt unempowered due to lack of ownership of budgets. Budgets were set but then adjusted at further levels without any additional discussion of new targets and how to achieve. Then budgets would be reallocated a few months into year if you weren't demonstrating that you truly need it. This drove teams to spend heavy up front and not make the smartest decisions at times
