Pros

The children literally just being able to make them smile. These kids have already gone through enough.

Cons

Case workers expected you to bend over backwards for them and when you did.. they expected it all the time. I came in contact with a Case worker(s) that weren't honest with their supervisors about what was actually going on within a case. Some even tried to throw you under the bus for a situation that they were supposed to handle. As a case aide your responsibilities are to be the eyes and ears of the cases you had as well as being transportation for most of your kids. Granted these caseworkers also had a lot on their plates with endless children and families needing to be taken care of, but they were burnt out or just didn't care anymore. For the amount of driving that seemed like ONLY the case aides did, wasn't worth the wear and tear of your car or the pay (mileage reimbursement). You're better off flipping burgers down the street... and that's just the honest truth. This job was a huge mental drain... I feel horrible for the families that go through LCFS.
