Toxic work environment and low morale!! - Sales Manager LGI Homes Employee Review

Pros

By far the best sales training I have received. The company does a good job ensuring everyone understands the sales process and that every sales rep is ready to take their first customer the LGI way. Yearly trips are great. Great relationships built with amazing and talented people throughout the real estate industry.

Cons

The senior management is very rude and belittles employees. Corporate leaders love to intimidate employees at their work locations and harbor an environment where everyone feels like they have to walk on eggshells. When they ask you how things are going, people are afraid to speak up and really be honest because they take offense and fire you. The company prides itself on never laying off any employees, yet the fire people left and right. It's a revolving door, something you should ask when interviewing. It seems like the only people that get promoted are liars and brown nosers. There is a lack of work life balance. This is not the job you want if you want to be home by dinner time. Not the job you want if you want to spend time with your kids and family. Not the job you want if you want to be treated with respect. The core values are just written and not followed by top management, they encourage a toxic environment. I can spend another 30 minutes writing more negatives. The negatives sure outweigh the positives.

Pros

Absolutely none, terrible position unless you are in a "great" community. They build in crappy places and expect people to pay top dollar.

Cons

Stay far away! For this position you will be under paid and over worked. They guarantee sales people 500 leads minimum a year. What they don't tell you is that 98% are garbage. The other 2.99% are desperate people with some of the worst credit you've ever seen. Then you have the .01% that can actually purchase a home. And they expect a minimum of 18 closings for sales people. They want to run everything like it is in Texas but news flash, all markets are different. Some need a different approach. And no one will listen to someone who's been in the local market for years. Pre crash and post crash of 08. I told them exactly what to do to make us a producing market and it fell on deaf ears. Then I was promised a promotion for doubling my team size, community count and responsibilities. Then when the time came. They said nah. Systems based company? Yea ok. What a joke. Wasted 2 years of my life here and walked away from a blossoming career I already had on the promise of big money that never came. Stay as far away as you can!!!
