Pros
I work at an amazing agency where my administator is caring and handles conflict in a very kind and professional manner. There is a wonderful amount of flexibility and I am able to create my own schedule to get all required visits and documentation completed. This is very important as a single mother to four children.
Cons
I feel that the health care benefits are too expensive and the plans are poor. I have to pay 65 dollars to see a counselor and there is no counseling offered through work even though I deal with death and dying every single day. This has a strong influence on me and I am resilient most of the time, but other times, I find I suffer from compassion fatigue and this affects my homelife and my role as a mother. I also do not believe the pay for Washington state is fair. The cost of living increase over the last five years has me now making less today than I did when I started with LHC Group. I will eventually have to downsize in my housing or find a better paying job. LHC Group should want to sustain good employees. I have been with the company five years and believe I am vital to the cohesiveness of my team. I deserve to have opportunity for better pay here. I love this work and do not want poor pay increases to cause me to leave something I put my heart and soul into. I also feel there should be a mandatory for LHC to put social workers into trainings that can improve our ethical pracitices. I want to be more well versed in todays ethics issues and know how to protect the patient, myself, and LHC group. I want to better support families through more trainings on techniques for anxiety and depression. I would likeLHC group to have funds set aside for in person trainings that will improve my clinical skills.
