Pros
I absolutely love the autonomy and independence as a home health RN. I get adequate support and direction from Patient Care Managers, Clinical Director, Executive Director, and Staffing Coordinator while still having the autonomy to coordinate with treatment team, patients, and physicians to provide excellent service! As long as you don’t require a lot of micromanaging and hand-holding, this is a perfect job! And I love that I’m not stuck behind four walls. I live and see clients by the ocean. Totally ideal for me!
Cons
The only con I can think of is that until you develop a rapport with medical providers, it can be difficult to get verbal orders over the phone. But with time, that resolves as the physicians and medical staff develop trust in the clinician who is seeing their client in their home!
