Pros
Great support from the home office, great coworkers, flexible hours, good pay scale, paid time off, allows overtime pay, I have been with LHC for 5years and started as a case manager RN (field nurse) ent from that to the inpatient hospice RN then to the PCM position there’s opportunity for here to move up in the company. The work can be hard and stressful at times but after all it is work and you are dealing with patients and families that are going through a tough time in their life with hospice. The work is rewarding and most of the people you you care for are amazing. The hours can be long at times especially if the staff gets low but LHC works hard to make sure the offices are able to hire enough staff to cover the work load and with the nursing shortage that can be challenging at times. But they have no problem paying for the time and you do get paid even if you’re working on documentation after hour at time and a half if you’re an hourly employee. The PTO adds up quick so there’s plenty of opportunity to take off with pay. I’ve been a RN for over 30years and this is one of the best places I’ve worked.
Cons
Not too many con The online itrain can be long but you’re going to to do annual training wherever you go. There is a lot of driving and that can be a con for some people but I always loved the in between time in my car between patients, just make sure you have a reliable car that gets good gas mileage.
