Pros

Lots of resources, can make your own schedule within reason, Coworkers are mostly good, They sometimes can get help from different locations and they have been extremely helpful. Field staff are kind and compassionate.

Cons

They don't give electronics or reimburse for you own. Onboarding is a lot of computer work but not hands on. It is mandatory to download several apps on your own personal device in order to work. Hit or miss on ability to make extra money. If they're desperate, they will offer good incentives, otherwise very tight on the purse strings. EMR is outdated, HCHB. Upper management are very corporate, far away from patient care with unrealistic expectations. Some upper management are aggressive and not supportive, have seen bulldozing. Too many emails and updates from corporate to keep up with. Lots of turnover due to burnout. Frequent changes in management. Caseload is unreasonable most of the time, drivetime is often longer than visits.

Pros

LHC group is a good company to work for. They offered training and support from management. I would say a solid company culture from my experience. I felt supported and checked on by my team.

Cons

Cons depend on the agency you work for. I had a good experience with my location and team.

Pros

Autonomy, days go by quick, expectations are defined.

Cons

Unmanageable workload/cases. Expected to fulfill number of points per week. Charting beyond business hours every day. Start of care visits also included hands on care. One visit took 3 hours because of 8 wounds and that didn’t include documentation. Oasis is tedious and comprehensive. Territory was supposed to be 10 minutes from home; it was not. Sometimes 45 minutes between each case with 5-6 cases for the day. Totally unmanageable for a seasoned and organized nurse. I cannot imagine how it would be for a less experienced nurse. Overworked and overwhelmed my entire time. I learned a lot from training modules but then you’re out on your own to troubleshoot. Unless you’re willing to hustle every single day and are willing to chart during dinner time and then still take time to confirm next day’s appointments, stay away.
