Favouritism is an integral part of the company. From promotions to annual awards, it is everywhere. For annual awards, it doesn’t matter how good are you at your work, if you are not part of few of the favourite teams or your reporting manager is not in good books of management or if you don’t butter, you are never gonna get one. For promotions, it goes by the seniority and not by capability. On top of that, being a small organisation, opportunities are also limited.
