Pros
I was an employee here for a very long time and held several positions in different departments (including a leadership position). The only positive: I made some long lasting friendships and created a professional network over the years which helped me get to the career I have now at a different company. Oh yeah, they have an awesome gym, coffee shop, game room and hold events for their employees, but if you can’t leave your desk, you can’t enjoy the amenities. Great benefits.
Cons
Low pay!!! LPL starts their new hires at the lowest pay possible especially in Service/Ops area. Low $ wages = low $ bonuses = lower $ promotions. Other departments with larger budgets pay more, but Service is not one of them. If you are a hard-working employee and want to leave Service/interview for another role, the mangers talk to one another and no matter how qualified you are for the role, they will block you from leaving the department to keep you there and keep their numbers up. They do not value their employees (even employees with extensive tribal knowledge). Everyone is just a number and you’re all disposable when the time is right for the company. Micro-management is definitely a thing (starts from the top of the ladder). This place will suck the soul out of you. I wish I did not stay as long as I did. I experienced several forms of harassment from management when I first started and didn’t realize that it was happening. I left LPL for a company where I feel valued for my hard work and work ethic. My advice for anyone who wants to grow in their career: there are other companies out there. If you decide to work at LPL, only make it a temporary thing.
