Pros
My particular US-based team was fantastic to work with, as was a supportive, creative, and driven colleague on the Chanel Brand team I was fortunate enough to connect with. (The woman who currently holds my former position is a superstar as well!) The HR team was surprisingly open-minded when it came to personal beliefs/ideologies. There *is* a lasting camaraderie between retail employees and corporate ones, which is refreshing.
Cons
Role required pandering to a foreign-based office that was out of touch with local markets. Far too much bureaucracy and "waiting for permission" that nothing gets done in a timely manner-especially when it's trend-driven and thus, time sensitive. Everything requires a "meeting with Italy" or "Meeting with the Brand" (Also corporate in Italy..."). Anyone lower than Director level (even then...) is not taken seriously and merely a "worker bee" who is expected to simply pander to the HQ directive.
