There's 2 great things about Langan - the people and the work. Being in a niche profession, it is rare to find a firm that focuses in only the geotechnical consultant engineering realm, and does not encroach on material testing, construction management, job-site inspections, etc. Langan maintains a high level of excellence working on the most difficult projects that face our industry worldwide. Because of this business model, the pool of people to hire is not as big as other industries/professions. The people who work here are all very, very passionate and like minded about the industry. Recalling the old adage, "you are who you surround yourself with" is a big deal professionally here at Langan! The people are phenomenal, dedicated, motivated, and intelligent. Need to be dedicated to your work. If you are not passionate about design in the fast paced, heavy construction world, this is not for you. You are given a lot of freedom to make choices that need to be thought out very carefully, but with that comes great responsibility fueled by a passion to get projects delivered correctly and efficiently.
