Supportive remote work but highly demanding tasks - Interpreter/Translator LanguageLine Solutions Employee Review

Pros

Completely remote work. They send you a set of headphones, a magnetic notebook and provide paid training which was deeply appreciated. The communication with project manager was very good. They used to call on fridays, during the training period to make sure you were doing all right or had any questions.

Cons

The work itself is highly demanding, both from a cognitive level and emotional level, since the nature of the conversations to be interpreted often varies from medical appointments to legal issues. It requires all of your undivided attention at all times.

Pros

Stay home. That's all. Nothing else.

Cons

Fifteen seconds to recover between stressful calls. The health insurance they offer is super expensive for the poorly paid for hours you get. It does not match. Micromanage everything, constant supervised and not a proper guidance after being pointed the errors of the week. Extreme poorly paid for the higher quality of job that they want. The company charges 3 or 4 dollars for minute, but an interpreter gets paid 15 an hour before taxes. See the difference? Days off unpaid always. Not fair. Not even during sickness, grief or personal emergencies.
