Pros

The best thing about being a Student Assistant at LCC is how flexible they are for scheduling. There is nowhere else that will let you work in two hour blocks between classes. Great place for college students to get a first job.

Cons

They can be unorganized and there is a big problem with departments being understaffed. Everything within the company needs to follow protocol and it over-complicates a lot of simple things things that really don't need to be. There is also no ability for advancement and they never promote people. In order to get a better job you need to go through the application process again and they don't like to hire from within because it means they have to hire another person to replace you.

LCC pays well especially as compared to other colleges in the area. The advising team is very supportive of each other and works to maintain a collaborative culture.

Cons

Advising is not often appreciated by other units on campus. Often times, administrators complain about the effectiveness of the advising team. Constant critique is very devaluing.
