Pros

The college genuinely cares about their stated mission and goals, and all the work you do connects to helping students succeed within the college and complete their goals. The college also provides good benefits, sick leave, paid leave, retirement, and optional insurance policies even for part time employees. They treat employees like people, and it's appreciated. Most jobs within the college also prioritize the well being of students, employees, and the school, so everything you do feels worthwhile.

Cons

The college does not have a lot of cons. If you are part time there are certain limitations in the hours and benefits you qualify for, which is pretty standard for part time work. If you are not an independent worker, it may be a struggle with some positions as a lot of positions expect independent employees who figure out how to accomplish their work and self-manage.

Pros

LCC pays well especially as compared to other colleges in the area. The advising team is very supportive of each other and works to maintain a collaborative culture.

Cons

Advising is not often appreciated by other units on campus. Often times, administrators complain about the effectiveness of the advising team. Constant critique is very devaluing.
