Pros

They are flexible with scheduling around your class times, a shift usually ends before class starts or you start your shift right after class, depending on the departments needs. Convenient for on campus classes.

Cons

If you spend a lot of time in class and also work 20-30 hours, there can be times when you are there for 8-12 hours. There aren't many options for food, and it is hard to pack a multiple meals and keep them there since most offices with kitchens/fridge aren't open all day. There is absolutely no oppurtunity for raises or advancement, and hours are set by the college policies, not your supervisor. Many of the students working there don't care about their jobs and get the same pay as ones who work hard everyday.

Pros

LCC pays well especially as compared to other colleges in the area. The advising team is very supportive of each other and works to maintain a collaborative culture.

Cons

Advising is not often appreciated by other units on campus. Often times, administrators complain about the effectiveness of the advising team. Constant critique is very devaluing.
