Pros
You are on your own when driving a bus. You don't have a boss looking over your shoulder micro-managing. (except video cameras 24/7)
Cons
The Transportation environment is negative--lots of gossiping among co-workers while management either turns a blind eye, or participates in negative/degrading conversations. There are video cameras on all buses--this can be a plus if you're attacked so long as your video is working, or hasn't been deleted by management to cover their butt! If your video gets deleted and it's needed to "cover" you, then you're on your own and possibly out of a job for no reason. The Transportation department has participated in illegal activities and has pressured drivers to perform illegal (unsafe) maneuvers. (Activating red loading lights at stops when no children are loading/unloading, just to get a marker on the GPS.) Management treats drivers with no respect. There are many drivers that hold at least a bachelor's degree and are still treated horribly. Management is very judgmental and prejudice--especially against Gays & Lesbians. They treat them like second-classed citizens.
