Pros
Pay if your in right position. Vacation. Publisher is always gone and "works from home" while everyone else is in office a majority of the time making it free reign of the place so you can do as you please I suppose.
Cons
Toxic work environment.. everyone is willing to stab everyone in back due to everyone being scared of having a job tomorrow or just because it's what leadership does. Publisher is completely absent and does not show up maybe once a week if even that. HR is not there for you but for LEE. Run from this company. It's a dying business. Circulation numbers are dropping faster then flies. Digital will not sustain the smaller locations and cuts will come. Local jobs are being outsourced. Local news is really not Local. You are nothing but a number on a budget page. Get out while you still have time. At the end of the day it won't matter who you are or how special you think you are they will do what they need to at the end of the day . Those you think care truly do not and are wolves in sheep's clothing. Also I have watched people with 20 plus years get paid next to nothing only to bring in a young new face when they finally can't take it and pay them way more then the dedicated loyal employee. It's sickening. If you aren't wanted there anymore for standing your ground the publisher will find ways to get rid of you all while single handling destroying the paper. They do not care about your community. The scary part this is actually the local people that have bought into what Lee wants them to do and be. If I were you get out now and don't support these papers. Get your news somewhere else. There aren't very many good people left in this company. The good ones have left and sadly there are a few that have no choice but to stay with snakes.
