Pros

Generally, the staff you work with is competent. Multiple campuses with ample opportunity to find your preferred specialty.

Cons

Management frequently does not support the bedside nurse; generally, a "do as I say" environment. Benefits are average. Strong push for advanced degrees in nursing; however, tuition reimbursement/scholarship amounts are poor with steep repayment terms (example: LMHS paid for half a graduate class in exchange for one year work commitment, wow! ) Additionally, no compensation for advanced degrees once obtained. A colleague was told, "...hey, you get to keep your current job..." My colleague formerly did her job with an associate degree, she now has a master's. No change in compensation, but $40k in student debt.

Pros

Centrally located and proximity to home. Staff friendly, for the most part.

Cons

System directors are narcissistic and egotistical. Business practices are not standardized. Business staff lacks initiative. Management lacks the ability to lead and organize staff. Some conversations contain unethical practices.
