Just another boiler room call center. True Sales talent should look elsewhere and make real money. - Sales LegalZoom Employee Review

Pros

Interesting product. You will learn a lot about legal filings and processes. Good information for anyone to have. Marketplace for food, some food subsidized (but way over-priced, so "subsidized" means paying a little above gas station prices for snacks and drinks), and there is a gym there for any workout types.

Cons

LegalZoom used to be a great place to work. It is now anything but. The company sold controlling stake to Permira, which has turned the company into an assembly line. You will be micromanaged to no end, given an unrealistic workload, and not compensated for your effort. Capped commission, a labyrinthian "points structure" to determine bonus, and a team of "quality assurance" agents (many with little or no sales experience) that "judge" the "quality" of your call, and their subjective and convoluted rubric for "quality" will determine half of your compensation. And closing a sale has no bearing on the "quality" or "success" of the sales call. When you close your sales, enjoy an incompetent and inconsistent fulfillment/"customer care" team that will inevitably fail to fulfill their end, which will lead to customers calling YOU back to complain. Rather than spending time on your actual job (SELLING), you will have to apologize and cover for others. LegalZoom's services and pricing structures are pure madness. The number of disclaimers due to certain subscriptions buried into the offerings, the number of "line item" charges and rules for cancellation to explain, and the incoherent overlap of product offerings means any customer calling CANNOT get an honest price quote without a 6-7 minute lecture. A large amount of calls are people just wanting an honest, quick estimate of what to expect. You will not be able to deliver this, and it ticks a LOT of people off. The work experience is an absolute grindhouse. Get ready to be micromanaged and monitored to no end. I could go on, but I tire of this. If you are desperate, then go for it. If you have real experience and talent (or self-respect) do not waste your time.

Pros

Good benefits and good culture

Cons

Very AI focused with constant fear of layoffs by employees (based on my experience). Pay isn’t great, especially given the current cost of living. Poor communication and planning regarding updates and project rollouts.
