Pros

The only pro is the ability to work remotely.

Cons

LegalZoom is the most toxic, horrible company to work for. DON'T work here. You will regret it. If you do, be prepared to work 24/7, live in fear for your job, and never get promoted. Leadership builds "power" by tearing down employees and ruining their confidence. Here's a few reasons why LegalZoom is so bad to work for: 1. Lack of vision and direction. Leadership has no long-term vision for the company. Everything is urgent and a top priority leaving employees to work crazy hours without focus. 2. Micromanagement. You have CEOs and VPs reviewing all materials, creating an environment of micromanagers and no autonomy. 3. Does not value customers. Leadership does not care about the customer experience. The only thing they do is care about making money. They create experiences to manipulate customers to purchase more and more products they can get for free or can do themselves. 4. No work-life balance. You are expected to be online 24/7. This is directly because there is no prioritization, focus, or direction. 5. No career growth. LegalZoom is made up of old Intuit folks. All they do is look out for each other. There's no career path or map to help you advance. 6. Illegal layoff practices. They constantly lay off employees and then open up the same job at a lower pay. This is highly illegal. 7. Poor company culture. People stab each other in the back just to keep their jobs. This is the most toxic company I've ever worked for. Leadership puts people down to make themselves feel more powerful. They'll also ping you 24/7 to turn around projects in unrealistic timelines. 8. Private jets and big bonuses. Leadership will lay people off because they make too much money and want to cut costs while leadership flies private jets, and gives themselves $1M retention bonuses.

Pros

Work life balance is actually great. The people you work with are smart and generally fun to work with

Cons

Roadmap is very disorganized, you kind of have to assume you will work on any random project each day

Pros

Allows remote for the time being

Cons

AI everywhere. It seems like a return to office mandate is right around the corner (no longer allowing new remote employees). Code quality doesn't seem important anymore, only how much you can get done with AI.
