Pros
Average pay and benefits, friendly coworkers.
Cons
This company does not have the tools needed for its employees to succeed, workplace expectations are unrealistic, and upper management fosters a stressful and toxic work environment. Phone calls, email, and web inquiries are not integrated into Salesforce. 8x8 phone system Salesforce macro is non-existent. If you know anything about Salesforce integration, then you're better off working elsewhere because the folks at Leica Microsystems sure don't. Compared to other companies that I've worked for that use Salesforce, Leica Microsystems is 10 years behind. Deerfield location has an awful open-office layout so you're being bombarded with endless distractions. Workload is difficult to manage for hourly employees without putting in time off the clock. Working off the clock is a harsh reality at Leica Microsystems. I'm pretty sure that management knows that everyone is working off the clock to meet their expectations, but as long as expectations are met, they could care less. Workplace environment is toxic and stressful. Manager's offices have glass doors that make it easy to hear their shouting matches that usually involve profane language. My direct managers were blatently two-faced and didn't care much about employee well-being. Using fear tactics and intimidation are the Service Manager's method of getting things done. People acted friendly towards him because they were afraid of him. Honestly, this was the worst job I have ever had. I wanted to die at one point. I'm just glad I held on long enough to get fired and receive a severance rather than be forced out and quit on my own with nothing to show for it.
