Pros
Pros: Unlimited PTO. Decent health insurance. Remote-friendly. Mostly chill environment if you have a good manager/team. You can see why some people stay for so long.
Cons
Cons: If you dont advocate hard for better pay, you will never get a raise. And by advocate, I mean emailing your manager, getting references from your fellow coworkers and doing your own research about what the market rate should be for your job. And it could still take years before you can see a bump. There are no inflation raises, the bonuses can be paltry or ‘stock’ that doesnt vest for years. There are certain teams that are run by people who should not be managing humans. Robots maybe, but certainly not humans. Most coworkers are chill but if you have one of those managers, it will ruin every part of what could be a stable career at an ok company. If you are from an acquired company, my advice is to peace out as soon as you can after or you will watch products and projects you were passionate about become nightmares. Just let it go so you dont become that one guy who always talks about how x-company did things before they got acquired. X-company was a startup who’s main goal was to get the CEO wealthy and leave the non-founder employees jobless. X-company doesnt exist anymore, its all LendingTree.
