Pros
There are a few things I love about working here: 1. The people. You just get a genuine, hardworking, no-BS vibe from the team, and our CEO sets that tone. I feel like I’m helping build something big, surrounded by people who are invested in each other’s success. Coming from corporate environments where I've had to focus more on playing politics than doing my job, this is a massive relief. 2. Senior leadership does a great job of communicating, very transparently, to the entire company about the company’s progress and setbacks. I appreciate that they want people at every level of the company to know what’s happening and how we’re tracking to our goals, which we have been killing lately. 3. I feel trusted to do my job. I am not micromanaged and I don’t perceive that happening for others, from what I can tell. To me, there’s nothing more motivating than working for leaders who have a vision then know how to hire and trust good people to bring it to life. 4. The senior leadership team is 50% women. It’s sad how rare that is anywhere, let alone software, but it is awesome to see here. BONUS: One of the senior leaders organizes “Ladies of Lev” events for the lady crew to meet and hang out once a month. Love it!!
Cons
Maybe it’s because I’m still kind of new, but this is tough… I wouldn’t call this a “con”, but I do think we’re still figuring out what the company culture truly is and what makes us unique as a place to work. I think it’s different for different people, and it will be important for us to define what aspects of working here we want to nurture as we scale. (More Ladies of Lev events, please!)
