Pros
The community loves this college mostly for its rich history of baseball and athletics in general.
Cons
President/CEO displays narcissistic traits and controls everything with fear tactics. There is no open discourse. If you cannot get 100% on board with everything she does, you will be gone. So many things are wrong, but everyone suffers because they don't want to be the next on the chopping block. The rest of the administrative staff that could do something about it are spineless. This is a steppingstone in the president's professional path and she treats it as such. The President wants staff/students of Lewis-Clark State to "Do More" but only if they can do it with less. Less support, less money, less resources, less happiness. Having been at other colleges/universities, I would add that the faculty are not anything special as a whole. There are some that are awesome and there are some programs that are top notch, but generally speaking students struggle here in multiple ways because everyone is expected to DO MORE .... with less. Trust me, you will not miss anything by avoiding this place. There is no place to go with any grievances and if you look up their internal processes and protocols, the President gets the final say and Idaho is a right to work state which means you have no employee protections. If President Pemberton ever leaves, come back and check out Lewis-Clark State. Until then, the only reason to gain employment there is because you hate yourself.
